In 2010 after taking my grandson (4 months old) out of a place he didn’t need to be, I started a case against my daughter. I did end up with custody of him. Over the next few years, my daughter has had 2 more children both born with drugs in their systems I also took them home from the hospital when they were released with the court’s blessing. I do get kinship care on the oldest two and medical on all three. But that doesn’t come close to providing everything they need. I think as grandparents raising our grandchildren after so many the state should step in and make the parent get to where they can no longer have children that they are no raising or supporting in any way. I also hate the fact that if something happens to me I will have no say in where these three kids will be placed after me raising them from birth that law needs to change. We love our kids and grandkids and because of this we take them in and care for them with little or no help from the state this is so wrong.
